It’s on the pipe at the top of the heater.

Safe checks

No Hot Water? Try These 4 Checks

1. Gas heater: is the pilot lit?

Look through the small window near the bottom. No flame? Follow the relight steps on the label. If it won’t stay lit, the thermocouple or gas valve may be bad.

2. Electric heater: check the breaker

A tripped water heater breaker is common. Reset it once. If it trips again, stop and call.

3. Is the gas on?

If other gas appliances also don’t work, the issue may be the gas supply. Call Southwest Gas.

4. Tankless: read the error code

Write down the code on the display. Scale build-up from hard water is a common cause of shutdowns.

Is no hot water an emergency?
